This Palazzo is located in Carovigno, original, medieval, Roman, built in 1889. It is spread over 1175 square meters, of which 750 sqm is covered, on two levels, with yard and courtyard terrace. The Palazzo still belongs to the family, De Cillis. The family, of Spanish origin, moved to Italy, first in Benevento, Ravenna, Bisceglie and most recently in Carovigno where they  established a large frantoio, for the extraction of oil and sanza, on the ground floor of the building in question as of 1889. The enlargement of the family suggested an extension of the front of the building on the first floor which was followed by a subsequent extension also at  the back, as from 1920.

The building is located  overlooking the main street Corso Umberto I, which is the SS16 Adriatica coming from Ostuni and crossing Carovigno to San Vito and finishing in Brindisi.

Off the large courtyard, we find on the ground floor, near the entrance, a large room that was once designated to the production of Olive oil, From the entrance, up the stairs, you come to the first floor, where the entire area of the property has been developed into a prestigious apartment, consisting of 11 large rooms (16 in total), with comfortable lobbies as well as the kitchen, the toilet and two closets. The structure is predominantly masonry bearing with  vaulted and Stella ceilings. The area has views of both the aspects of the property by means of windows and balconies. There is also a large veranda, exclusive to the property.

The apartment has architectural features and finishes of great value, such as the marble flooring and tiles, stair railing, wrought iron gate and unique hand made wall sculptures in stone. Doors, windows and original stained glass windows, have all been  perfectly preserved. Another peculiarity is the cast iron radiators dating from the same period as the construction of the building.

Carovigno, a small town in the province of Brindisi, is only about 20 km from the airport of Brindisi, 80 km from Bari and just 5 km from the famous Ostuni, also known as the “White City”. There is a beautiful medieval castle dating back to 1100 and it is also close to the famous State Nature Reserve of Torre Guaceto.
